Sony has shown off the latest model in its Xperia smartphone range, the Sony Xperia Z1.
Xperia Z1 with a price of Rs 44,990 are positioning up against the HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and Nokia Lumia 1020.The smartphone features a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor.

Fully Waterproof

The fully waterproof Sony Xperia Z1 boasts a 20.7-megapixel camera . Users can also shoot and record video in HD. The phone has a 5-inch screen using BRAVIA tech.

The company is also offering free 8GB data download on Vodafone, free accidental insurance for six months and EMI scheme with the device. Xperia Z1 comes with free access to movies, songs and TV shows with Xperia Z1. Only content under Sony Music, Sony Entertainment and Sony Pictures brands will be available to users as part of this scheme.

Miss America of Indian origin.

The crowning of the first Miss America of Indian origin sparked a racist reaction on social media on Monday but 24-year-old Nina Davuluri played down the issue, saying she had to "rise above" such things. 

Davuluri, wants to be a doctor and is applying to medical school, with the help of a $50,000 scholarship she won as part of the pageant title. She's the second consecutive Miss New York to win the Miss America crown, succeeding Mallory Hagan, who was selected in January.
She said she's delighted that the nearly century-old pageant sees beauty and talent of all kinds.

"I'm so happy this organization has embraced diversity," she said. "I'm thankful there are children watching at home who can finally relate to a new Miss America."

The United Nations'  International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer is celebrated on September 16 every year. On this day primary and secondary school educators throughout the world organize classroom activities that focus on topics related to the ozone layer.

The Ozone Layer describes the protective layer of naturally occurring gas, comprised of three atoms of Oxygen found about 10 to 50 km above the earth's surface that protects human beings from the harmful ultraviolet radiation or UV-B rays of the Sun. Scientist in the 1970s discovered that the layer was thinning as a result of the release of CFCs.

SALMAN KHAN INVITE SRK IN BIG BOSS 7

That the two warring Khans of Bollywood, i.e. Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, have softened their stance in the past few months, is old news. Latest on the cards is a possible meeting, that too on a popular reality TV show.

Salman Khan had extended an invitation to his once-upon-a-time arch rival SRK at the launch of Big Boss, to promote his upcoming film on the platform. He had also added that the infamous ‘Iftar party hug’ was the gracious thing to do, and that there was no cold war between them.

SRK, upon hearing of Salman’s olive branch, was quick to respond.

Presently shooting in Dubai for Farah Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’, Shah Rukh said: “I would love to be on Bigg Boss and promote ‘Happy New Year’ on the show. It’s a big platform but the shooting have just started hence we won’t be ready for this season and perhaps next year we might match our release dates.”

All those waiting with bated breath for the day to arrive when they would see SRK and Salman sharing the same stage, might not have to wait very much longer. Perhaps the two would be seen together on Bigg Boss 8, with Salman hosting the show and SRK promoting a film?

Model-actress Gauhar Khan will be participating in the seventh season of controversial reality show Bigg Boss.

 Salman Khan is set to host the popular reality show `Bigg Boss` for the Fourth time and confesses he will not leave the show until the channel itself asks him to do so.

Salman Khan says he is charging more than the reported Five crore sum per episode for hosting celebrity reality show Bigg Bossseason 7.

Blackberry launches new smartphone.

Blackberry recently launched the Z10 smartphone in Nigeria, the second fastest growing mobile network in the world.

 

BlackBerry does not have any equated monthly instalment (EMI) plans for this model yet. It has EMI schemes for BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Curve 9220 devices.

Authorized retailers will start selling the device in India from September 14.
